011 Prescription Management - Target Monthly NHSBSA Submission

011 Prescription Management - Target Monthly NHSBSA Submission

Introduction

PrimaryCare IT has developed a suite of monthly SystmOne searches to support practices in identifying prescriptions issued that  may be relevant to their NHSBSA personally administered items submissions.

The searches identify patients who have been issued a prescription for selected medicines or vaccines issued or recorded as issued in SystmOne during the relevant reporting month.  This may include medicines issued as part of a consultation or procedure where the item is administered by the practice, as well as medication issues requiring review.

The search provide a target list for reconciliation, helping practices identify items that may require further review when preparing their monthly submission.

The searches are available retrospectively from January 2026 and are designed to roll forward for ongoing monthly use.

WarningThese searches identify medication issues recorded in SystmOne at your practice only. They do not confirm that an item was purchased or administered by the practice, or that it is eligible for reimbursement. Please review the patient record and applicable claiming requirements before submitting a claim.

Search Overview

The searches can be found in:

011 Prescription Management >   Target Monthly NHSBSA Submission

A separate search is provided for each medication and reporting month. Search names identify the month, medication and activity being reported, for example:

01 JAN | Decapeptyl SR 11.25 Rx issued

Medicines and vaccines included

The searches are available for the following medicines and vaccines:

  • Decapeptyl SR
  • Depo-Medrone
  • Depo-Medrone with Lidocaine
  • Depo-Provera
  • Goserelin
  • Hydroxocobalamin
  • Inclisiran
  • Kenalog
  • Leuprorelin
  • Lidocaine injection
  • Nebido
  • Repevax
  • Revaxis
  • Xgeva
  • Zoladex

  • How the monthly searches work

Each medication search identifies relevant medication issued within the last 12 months. Individual monthly searches then identify activity for the relevant reporting month.
For example, the January search identifies relevant activity during the January reporting period, while the February search identifies activity during February.

    How to use the searches

Navigate to Clinical Reporting > 011 Prescription Management > Target Monthly NHSBSA Submission.

Select the required month and run the medication searches. Review the patients returned against the practice's records and previous submissions before making a claim.

Once the search has been run, break down the results to view the individual patients and medication activity identified by the search. The breakdown can be used to review the patient details, medication and relevant dates before checking the activity against the patient's clinical record and previous submissions.  (For guidance on breaking down SystmOne searches, click here for the support article)

InfoAfter running the searches, break down the results to view the patient, medication and issue date details required to review each result.

A patient appearing in a search indicates that relevant medication activity has been identified. It does not confirm that the item is eligible for reimbursement. Practices should confirm that the applicable NHSBSA or local claiming requirements have been met and ensure that the activity has not already been submitted.
    Alert
Review the patients returned by the searches and confirm that the relevant claiming requirements have been met before submitting a claim.
