015C Catch-up campaigns is a new folder currently comprising searches for 2 (child & adolescent) catch-up vaccination campaigns where general practice is involved in the identification and/or vaccination of individuals who never had or never completed certain vaccinations.
HPV Catch Up
While HPV is primarily administered in the schools vaccination programme, GP surgeries may give it as catch-up. Females can have the HPV course from the age of 12 (in school year 8) until their 25th birthday. Eligibility to receive the vaccine in year 8 was extended to boys from September 2019. The catchup programme for males under the age of 25 is only for those born on or after 01/09/2006.
These searches are designed for the adolescent programme, and do not extend to MSM and other high risk groups.
HPV course not started
Eligible patients between 16 and 24 who have not got an HPV vaccination code recorded on their record.
Prior to July 2023 a full course was defined by the age the patient received the first dose. Where the first dose was administered before the patient's 15th birthday, a full course was two doses. Patients starting the course after their 15th birthday were scheduled to receive three doses. Since July 2023 the advice was revised to a single dose for all patients on the standard adolescent campaign.
HPV course complete
Patients who have received a dose of HPV, irrespective of whether they had completed an HPV course according to the schedule at the time of completion. This acknowledges the retrospective completion of HPV vaccination courses in 2023.
Please note that some patients will be in this search but may need additional doses of the vaccine due to a HIV diagnosis or immunocompromised status. As this is in additional to the standard adolescent campaign these patients may need to be identified separately.
HPV declined
Patients whose most recent code relating to HPV vaccinations is a declined code. This may be patients who have never been vaccinated, or patients who started a vaccination course but subsequently declined.
HPV contraindicated
Patients whose most recent code relating to HPV vaccinations is a contraindicated code. This may be patients who have never been vaccinated, or patients who started a vaccination course but were subsequently coded as contraindicated.
HPV allergy codes are not taken into account.
MenACWY Catch Up
MenACWY is another schools programme campaign, so these searches identify patients aged 16 to 24 who have not previously received a Men ACWY vaccination.
Men ACWY course not started
While Men ACWY is primarily administered in the schools vaccination programme, GP surgeries may give it as catch-up and opportunistic offering to young adults going to higher education. This report identifies patients aged 16-24 who have not previously been vaccinated for Men ACWY, contraindicated, or declined.
Treat this as a list of patients to review and target for invitation. Vaccinating or coding why the patient isn't having a vaccination removes them from the report.
Men ACWY previously declined
Patients whose most recent code relating to Men ACWY vaccinations is a declined code. This may be patients who have never been vaccinated, or patients who started a vaccination course but subsequently declined.
Men ACWY previously contraindicated
Patients whose most recent code relating to Men ACWY vaccinations is a contraindicated code. This may be patients who have never been vaccinated, or patients who started a vaccination course but were subsequently coded as contraindicated.
Men ACWY allergy codes are not taken into account.
