The Minocycline searches are designed to identify patients who have been prescribed minocycline in the last 3 months to help monitor prescribing safely.

There is no role for minocycline in the treatment of acne. Other tetracyclines are equally effective and do not carry the same risks of SLE, autoimmune hepatitis and slate-grey skin pigmentation.
Use the report to review recent issues and whether there are any recent codes suggestive of an acne related condition. If the minocycline has been linked to a problem, this is shown which may help to overlook those on the drug for other reasons.

Patients who appear in the report with an empty line of medication information have the drug on their current medication list but it has not been issued in the past 6 months.
