Description

COPD015

The contractor establishes and maintains a register of:

  1. Patients with a clinical diagnosis of COPD before 1 April 2023; and
  2. Patients with a clinical diagnosis of COPD on or after 1 April 2023 whose diagnosis has been confirmed by quality assured post-bronchodilator spirometry FEV1/FVC ratio below 0.7 between 3 months before or 6 months after diagnosis (or if newly registered at the practice in the preceding 12 months without a record of spirometry having been performed, a record of an FEV1/FVC ratio below 0.7 recorded within 6 months of registration); and
  3. Patients with a clinical diagnosis of COPD on or after 1 April 2023 who are unable to undertake spirometry

What do the business rules mean?

In order to be included in COPD015, patients must:
  1. have an earliest unresolved COPD diagnosis
    1. before 1st April 2023
      (or)
    2. on or after 1st April 2023 who have postbronchodilator spirometry FEV1/FVC of below 0.7 in the period spanning 93 days before and 6 months after diagnosis
      (or)
    3. on or after 1st April 2023
  2. not have "Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease resolved" coded since the most recent COPD code
