How to batch add clinical codes and protocols from search outputs
How to batch add clinical codes and protocols from search outputs
Introduction
In EMIS, you can take a search output and take a batch action against all patients identified by that search.
Batch adding a clinical code
Highlight the search you want to batch add the code to (in this example "AF with no CHA2DS2-VASc"). You must have run the search first before batch adding the code
Click on "Batch Add"
Click on "Clinical Code"
This will bring up the following box:
Click on the magnifying glass to the right of "Batch Add" to choose the code you wish to add:
Select the code and click "ok"
Even though you've highlighted a search to bulk add the code to before clicking batch add, you now need to reidentify the search you want to add the code to - you can also choose to add it to the population included or the population excluded.
Once you've filled in this information the number of patients you're adding the code to will be displayed. You can also choose to add the code immediately, or schedule it for a time in the future:
Batch adding by using a protocol
To show how to do this we're going to take the search “AF with no CHA2DS2-VASc”:
To bulk code, follow the steps:
Click on “Batch add”
Click on “Protocol”
This will bring up the following screen:
Take the following steps:
Use the magnifying glass to locate and select the HP212 Bulk action CHA2DS2-VASc score adding tool
Add a free text description (Bulk add score used in the above example)
Select the “Search Population (Included) option
Use the magnifying glass to open a search window and locate the search “AF with no CHA2DS2-VASc” within the Primary Care IT I 004 Contracts I 004B GP Contract Pro I a Early contract actions folder
Then click ok
This protocol batch adds the value of the CHA2DS2-VASc score to each patient identified by the search.
