This is a protocol alert which helps users understand which patients have outstanding actions for the Weight Management Enhanced service.

This protocol alert is part of the PCIT toolset product.

What does it do?

The protocol alert performs the following functions:
  1. Identifies patients who are BAME (black and minority ethnic) origin and have a BMI > 27.5
    1. Highlights if there is no BMI recorded in the last year
    2. Highlights if the patient hasn't been referred for weight management
  2. Identifies all other patients with a BMI >30
    1. Highlights if there is no BMI recorded in the last year
    2. Highlights if the patient hasn't been referred for weight management

Why is it important?

This protocol alert is important to ensure recording of BMI is up-to-date for patients who require it, as well as supporting the achievement of the weight management enhanced service contract.
