What does it do?
The protocol alert performs the following functions:
- Identifies patients who are BAME (black and minority ethnic) origin and have a BMI > 27.5
- Highlights if there is no BMI recorded in the last year
- Highlights if the patient hasn't been referred for weight management
- Identifies all other patients with a BMI >30
- Highlights if there is no BMI recorded in the last year
- Highlights if the patient hasn't been referred for weight management

This protocol alert is important to ensure recording of BMI is up-to-date for patients who require it, as well as supporting the achievement of the weight management enhanced service contract.
