LES Alert for Cumbria (HP235)
This is a localised protocol for Cumbria
Purpose:
This protocol will:
- Ensures optimum activity reporting and payment for the locally enhanced services for Cumbria.
What does it actually do?
This protocol covers a number of different LES areas. For each of these, if the user double clicks on the alert they are taken to a template which highlights the required data entry and allows updating in line with the Enhanced Service requirements. The areas covered are listed below with the functions the protocol performs listed below each one:
Warfarin Monitoring
The protocol performs the following functions:
- Checks every patient on loading the record to see if the patient is on warfarin
- If the patient is on warfarin, the alert identifies if the correct code to record monitoring has been added to the record to achieve payment
- If it hasn't, the user is warned that this is needed. If it has, the user is alerted so they can see if it has been added this quarter - it's needed every quarter.
Shared Care Monitoring
The protocol performs the following functions:
- Checks every patient on loading the record to see if they are on a shared care drug
- If they are on a shared care drug, the user is alerted to this and the frequency of monitoring that is required.
No recent BP
The protocol performs the following functions:
- Checks every patient on loading the record to see if they have had a blood pressure in the last 2 years
- If they haven't, the user is alerted to this.
Hypertension case finding
The protocol performs the following functions:
- Checks every patient on loading the record to see if they have had a raised blood pressure previously
- If they have, the user is alerted to this and told of the level of BP.
Health data monitoring
The protocol performs the following functions:
- Checks every patient on loading the record to see if they have had the required data for health monitoring entered
- If they haven't, the user is alerted to this and told which elements are missing.
Autism health check
The protocol performs the following functions:
- Checks every patient on loading the record to see if they are autistic
- If they are, it checks to see if they have had the required data for their health check entered
- If they haven't, the user is alerted to this and told which elements are missing.
SMR in Dementia patients
The protocol performs the following functions:
- Checks every patient on loading the record to see if they have dementia
- If they have, it checks to see if they have had the a structured medication review
- If they haven't, the user is alerted to this.
