IIF CAN002 Checker (HP291)

Purpose:

This protocol will:

  1. ensure that the requirements of CAN002 are met for the PCN DES

What does it actually do?

The protocol performs the following functions:
  1. Checks to make sure that the correct code for referral has been used and prompts the user to add the correct one if not
  2. Checks to make sure that the requirements of CAN002 have been met prior to referral - including either:
    1. a FIT test in the 21 days prior to referral
    2. FIT test contraindicated code added
    3. FIT test refused added
  3. If the requirements haven't been met, the user is prompted to consider completing one of the above actions
  4. The user is offered a template to be able to record the appropriate activities

What does it look like?

If an incorrect code has been added the user is prompted as follows:


If the requirements for referral haven't been met for CAN002, the following alert is shown:

If choosing to wait, the following is shown:

and then an offer of the template to record actions is shown:

If the user chooses to add one of the reasons a FIT is not indicated they are provided with this option:

The use of this alert is helped by the user making use of the PCIT Suspected Colorectal Cancer templates to record activity leading up to referral.
