IIF HI-02

IIF HI-02

Percentage of registered patients with a recording of ethnicity on their GP record

This indicator seeks to ensure that nearly all registered patients have a code relating to ethnic origin. Nearly all ethnic origin codes (Ethnic group, census 2001, census 2011) are eligible, as well as codes stating that the patient declined to divulge their ethnic origin.

There are no secrets to this indicator; just make a concerted effort to gather as many ethnic origin codes as possible. Clearly this doesn’t change so targeted questioning will avoid repeating the question.
