028 National Screening Programmes
The latest version of "028. Screening Programmes" is v2.1
Primary Care IT have created some useful searches and reports to help practices manage their National Screening Programme activity. More information about screening programmes is provided in
this article.
These cover:
Bowel screening:
- Find those not screened
- Find incomplete or spoiled samples
- Find those who have not responded to invites
- Find potential coding errors
Breast screening:
- Find those not screened
- Find those who have not responded to invites
- Find those with a disclaimer (cease/opt-out) in place
- Find potential coding errors
Cervical screening
- Perform cervical screening audits (inadequate results etc)
- Recall searches
- Targeting searches - broken down into those with learning disabilities, SMI, or autism so you can create bespoke approaches dependent on need
- Data quality searches
These programmes are centrally run, and recall is undertaken by the NHS centrally. It is important for practices to consider how they interact with this recall and what actions they wish to take.
We have further detailed resources, including a practice protocol for cervical screening in our
