What does it actually do?

The protocol performs the following functions:

Any time an asthma diagnosis is entered it evaluates the record to see if this is the first entry of the diagnosis
If it is, the tool checks to see if the patient has had the required tests for AST006
If the patient hasn't, the user is alerted that this is the first diagnosis of Asthma and that the required tests haven't been recorded in the record - highlighting that this is a common data error and offering options for the user.

Safe

S2 How are risks to people who use services assessed, and their safety monitored and maintained?
S4 Do staff have all the information they need to deliver safe care and treatment to people who use services?
