Introduction
This guide will help you to configure your PC settings to get the most out of PCIT SystmOne templates. Many users will already have these settings as the default and will not need to make any changes. For users who have changed their SystmOne font size or screen resolution, follow the guidance below.
Changing font size - what happens
When the font size is increased:
- Text may cut off mid-sentence, making instructions or field labels unclear
- A scroll bar may appear next to fields, forcing you to scroll to see the full text
- The overall layout can shift, causing certain fields to appear out of context
Font size 0 - Correct Display
The template below displays all fields and instructions clearly.
Increased font size - Display Issue
With larger font size enabled, text is truncated (cut off) and scroll bars appear, making some fields difficult to interpret.
Why This Matters
If you cannot see the full wording of the field instruction, there is a risk of:
- Misinterpreting the question or requirement
- Entering incorrect or incomplete data
How to Fix it
To ensure our templates display correctly:
- Reset the SystmOne font size to default setting i.e. 0. To do this, go to the SystmOne toolbar and click System > PC Setting > User Interface > Font Size. Adjust the font size on the right using the dropdown box
2. Log out of SystmOne and log back in for the change to take effect.
3. Reopen the template to confirm that all fields and labels are fully visible.
4. If there are still issues, you may need to adjust the PC settings themselves. Follow the Changing resolution steps below.
Changing resolution
You can adjust Windows settings to change the screen resolution or increase the font size. Type 'Display' into the Windows search bar and click the Display Settings option that appears. Ideally you should choose the maximum recommended scale and resolution offered by your device. This will depend on the size of your monitor, so your recommended resolution may be different to the screenshot below.
If you choose not to use the recommended scaling and resolution for your device, you may see scrollbars appear within PCIT templates. In the example below, some of the "Occupation + Housing" section has been cut off.
If you see a scrollbar next to any text box or within the template, make sure you scroll through the full text and template before making a selection, to ensure you are clicking the correct field and not missing out any important data entry.
