Description

OST004

The contractor establishes and maintains a register of patients:

 

1.     Aged 50 or over and who have not attained the age of 75 with a record of a fragility fracture on or after 1 April 2012 and a diagnosis of osteoporosis confirmed on DXA scan, and

 

2.     Aged 75 or over with a record of a fragility fracture on or after 1 April 2014 and a diagnosis of osteoporosis.


What are the criteria for this indicator?

In order to be included in OST004, patients must meet the requirements of:

Group 1:
  1. age 50-74
  2. osteoporosis diagnosis
  3. coded fragility fracture since 1st April 2012
  4. a DEXA result that
    1. can't carry a value
    2. or can carry a value and has a T score of < -2.5
      (or)

Group 2:
  1. age at least 75 years old
  2. osteoporosis diagnosis
  3. a fragility fracture coded since 1st April 2014
