Quick codes and text

Quick codes and text

Info
This guide will show you how to set up quick codes and text within EMIS Web.  This feature allows you to set up short cut codes, that automatically enter pre-defined text into the record.  This can be really handy for repetitive text that you need to enter and can save significant amounts of time when consulting.  See the video below as an example :

We've collated a ton of suggested quick codes that you can add yourselves, these are on attached excel file.  You will also find a PDF file that you can print and put up in consulting rooms.  Both of these resources are downloadable at the bottom of this instruction sheet.
Idea
We would suggest brainstorming these within your own practice so that your team members have the opportunity to contribute and engage with the process.
Once you've finished your list of the ones you want to use, there are a few steps to getting these uploaded for use.   You have to have the correct permissions (RBAC) codes for this to work - so if you can't see the options shown below, contact your practice administrator for advice.

Step 1: Make sure you're in consultation mode within EMIS
Step 2: Click on CR Config

This should bring up a screen that looks like this:

You need to click: 1) Quick codes and text and then 2) Click add

This will present the following screen:

Open the spreadsheet and Add the column A (from the spreadsheet with  # at the start) which is what you'll add as the user and then add the column B in the text information (this is what it will be replaced by).
Click add and then you can click add again from the previous step to add your next one.
