We have created some helpful searches and reports to make
achieving QOF indicators more efficient for you and your practice. This set of
searches cover QOF, including QOF VI (vaccinations and immunisations). The
searches are located within Primary Care IT – Reporting Group > 004 GP
Contract Pro folder.
This folder contains 15 sub folders split into 4 different categories which you is reflected
within the naming of the sub folder.
The 4 categories are as follows:
004A QOF Reporting
- These searches replicate the GP Contract – QOF searches and have been
split to report on Rolling data (results as of the day you run the searches)
and End of year data (results as of the end of the current financial year)
What would you use these searches for?
The main reason for these searches is so, you can run these
searches when you want to. We would suggest that you only run the specific
search or search folder that you require/are working on at the current time.

004B Routine QOF Work – These searches are divided
into 10 sub folders ( see screen shot below) It offers a full range of
searches to help practices break down QOF workload and organise it in a
productive and efficient way.
Throughout this article
PCA is mentioned,
this stands for Personalised Care Adjustment and with regards to QOF, has
replaced the term ‘exception reporting’. A PCA is when a patient is not
included in a QOF target because they have declined a review/drug or a
review/drug is not indicated, etc. By coding a PCA, it will reduce the number
of patients eligible for the QOF target (decreasing the denominator), making it
easier to meet the QOF target. For more information about PCAs see our
separate
support article.
004C QOF VI – These searches consist of 4 indicators
to track timely uptake of certain vaccinations. Along side these indicators
PCIT have created Missed activity searches, each search looks at
patients who are excluded from the main indicator.
004E Retired QOF Indicators – These searches are
split into two sub folders for retired Indicators Rolling and End of year.
Even though the indicators have been retired its still best
practice to do the work and in most cases many of the indicators are still in
the NICE guidance and practices will still want to continue reviewing theses
patients.
Benefits
Working through our GP contract pro searches and reports can help to:
Maximise
QOF points in a simplified way; these resources have been created to
help users maximise their QOF points. However, we have taken into account
this is often a lot of work, therefore, we have streamlined the process to
make it as efficient as possible to achieve these indicators.
