Description

BP002

The percentage of patients aged 45 or over who have a record of blood pressure in the preceding 5 years.

What do the business rules mean?

What makes a patient eligible?

Patients eligible for the BP002 denominator must be at least 45 years of age.

How to achieve the indicator

To meet the criteria for BP002 patients must:
  1. have at least 1 blood pressure recording within the last 5 years leading up to and including the end of the current contract year

What will remove patients from eligibility?

  1. Patients who chose not to have their blood pressure recorded within the 5 years leading up to the end of the current contract year.
  2. Patients who were newly registered with the GP practice within the last 3 months of the current contract year.

If a patient achieves the indicator at any point during the year, any exclusions that have also been added are ignored.
