005 COVID vaccination programme: Overview
The current version of COVID vaccination programme searches is v11.0
Introduction and installation
Primary Care IT released a refreshed suite of searches to support the COVID vaccination programme in Spring 2026. The original 005 COVID vaccination programme searches referenced the JCVI age and at-risk cohorts as the basis of searches to group patients by how many doses they had received. Since the national vaccination programme has moved onto a cycle of seasonal boosters, PCIT has redesigned the folders and reduced the overall number of searches which run.
There are currently 5 folders:
- 005A COVID Spring 2026 COHORTS
- 005B COVID Spring 2026 RECALL
- 005C COVID Spring 2026 UPTAKE
- 005Q COVID Spring 2026 DATA QUALITY
- 005U COVID Utility Tools

Versions
v1 - Initial 9 priority cohorts
v2 - Fix high priority code
v4 - Add data quality searches
v5 - Add searches for 12-15 cohort with underlying health conditions
v6 - Add folder P for immunosuppression
v7 - Add folder E for third dose invitation; add CVP-05 report; update all searches with wider set of COVID vaccination codes (1st - 5th dose); add searches CVP-B0 / CVP-C0 / CVP-D0 / CVP-E0 for overview of patients who fit within each folder's vaccination status logic.
v8 - Added searches for age groups in latest JCVI guidance
v9 - updated searches for Spring booster programme
v10 - replaced searches with 005A, 005B, 005C, 005Q
v11 - Replaced all folders with new folder restructure for 2026 onwards
