Exporting data from reports

Exporting data from reports


Beware that by doing this you are storing patient identifiable data outside of your EMIS Web system.  You should ensure that you follow information governance guidance on where you store and what you do with this data to ensure you comply with all regulatory and legal frameworks.

1. Click the report and click View Results


You can only do this with reports - if you do this on a search the "View Results" selection will not show
You can only view results for reports that have been run.  If you haven't yet run your report, you should do this first.  If you don't know how to do this, see the article on running searches.

2. You will now see the output of your report.  Click on the "Export" button in the top menu bar to export your data:



3. This will open a dialogue box, click OK:


4. When you click ok, the following box will appear which allows you to name and select where you are going to store the output file:



It is very important to remember where you are storing the file so you can find it later.  Also consider how secure any location you are storing this data is - as it may contain patient identifiable data.
