The eGFR value alert when prescribing is a protocol alert within EMIS Web which has been designed to display information about eGFR results when prescribing a medication
What does it do?
The alert is triggered when a user is:
Selecting a drug
Where a patient is under 55, information is only shown if they have a previous eGFR <60, informing the user what the level is. Where patients are over 55, the user is informed of all eGFR results.
Why is it important?
eGFR levels are frequently needed to be considered when prescribing a variety of medications. This handy protocol allows the user to see relevant information every time they are prescribing

Where an eGFR is < 60, the following is shown

Where an eGFR is >55 and the eGFR is > 60, the following is shown
If hovered over the following information is shown:
Where an eGFR is >55 and there is no previous eGFR, the following is shown
