What is the calculator for and who produced it?
The IPSS calculator is for classifying the severity of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS)
How should it be used?
NICE recommend that IPSS is used in the baseline assessment of men presenting with LUTs
Interpretation of score
The IPSS severity score is interpreted as:
0 - Asymptomatic
1-7 - Mildly symptomatic
8-19 - Moderately symptomatic
20-35 - Severely symptomatic
IMPORTANT
