Overview/Purpose
This protocol generates a low priority message in the EMIS red box to inform users that the patient is eligible to receive an NHS Health Check
Resource type:
Product
This protocol is part of the PCIT toolset product
What does it do?
This protocol can be activated and configured to run whenever a patient record is loaded
- You will need to select patient
- There are a number of aspects this alert checks for (in the background) prior to a message being shown:
- Age is between 40 and 74
- Pre-existing cardiovascular condition
- Recent issue of a lipid lowering drug
- Previous NHS Health Check within the last 5 years
- On palliative care register
- Double clicking the alert will launch an NHS Health Check template
HP017 differs from EMIS' own NHS Health Check Alert as it excludes more ineligible patients and allows the user to double click to launch a dedicated template to complete the health check.
Why is it important?
This protocol will help team members quickly and efficiently identify if a patient is eligible for their NHS Health Check. This is important because it saves time within general practice, as well as ensuring accuracy.
