Nexus, from Primary Care IT, is a primary care intelligence and clinical tooling platform for NHS general practice. It brings together, in one place:
- Benchmarking dashboards — compare your practice, PCN or ICB against peers and the national picture using published NHS data, covering QOF, demographics, workforce, income and quality.
- Build tools for your clinical system — create forms, patient questionnaires, searches, dashboards and reusable library items, then export them as upload-ready files for your clinical system (Medicus, EMIS Web or SystmOne, depending on the packages you hold).
- Monitoring and recall — a recall worklist and monitoring packs to keep on top of patients due a review.
- Workforce tools — rotas, room planning, leave and absence tracking for your team.
- Friends & Family Test (FFT) — collect and review patient feedback by email and SMS.
- AI Insights — ask questions of the benchmarking data in plain English and get cited answers.
Who is it for?
Nexus is for NHS staff. Self-serve accounts require an NHS email address (@nhs.net or an nhs.uk address).
There are two levels of access:
- Free NHS data access — anyone with an NHS email can register for the benchmark dashboards at no cost, permanently: no card details, no trial clock. These are built entirely on published, aggregate NHS data — no patient-identifiable information. For most people this is the right place to start.
- The paid platform — an optional subscription your practice can choose to take, unlocking the live clinical features: the build tools, monitoring and recall, workforce, FFT and more. What you see in the app depends on the packages your organisation holds.
