Finding your way around

Finding your way around

Everything in Nexus is reached from the header at the top of the app. What you see depends on the packages your organisation holds and your role — menus you are not entitled to are simply not shown.

The header menus

  • Resources — everything your organisation downloads and builds: Forms, Questionnaires, Library Items, Artefacts, and the system-specific tools (EMIS Templates, Medicus Searches, Medicus Dashboards, TPP Templates), depending on your packages.
  • Dashboards — the benchmarking and performance dashboards, grouped into *My organisation* (Practice, PCN, ICB, My QOF data), *System & national* (National performance, Funding & equity) and *Explore & reference* (AI Insights, Data sources). Overview is the hub that links to every view.
  • Monitoring — the Recall worklist and Monitoring packs.
  • WorkforceSetup, Rota planner, Room chart, Leave, Absence & Bradford and My workforce.
  • FFT — the Friends & Family Test area.
  • Search Planner — plan and track search-building work.
  • Practice — your organisation's own admin area: Settings, Team members, Billing and related configuration. Some entries are only visible to organisation admins.

Useful controls in the header

  • Guides menu (?) — replay any in-app walkthrough at any time, including the *Getting started* tour. See In-app guides.
  • Theme toggle — switch between light and dark mode. The eye icon next to it opens display and accessibility settings.
  • Organisation switcher — if you belong to more than one organisation, a switcher appears in the header so you can move between them.

Why can't I see a menu?

Menus and pages are gated by your organisation's packages and by your role. If a feature you expect is missing, see Why can't I see a feature?.
