In-app guides and the Guides menu

Nexus includes interactive, step-by-step walkthroughs that run inside the app, spotlighting the part of the screen each step is talking about.

The welcome tour

The first time you sign in, a short Getting started tour starts automatically — a quick lap of your menus, dashboards and team settings. It takes about two minutes, and you can leave at any point with Skip.

The tour is tailored to you: free NHS data access users get a tour of the benchmark dashboards, while organisation users see the areas their packages unlock (and admins get an extra step on inviting the team).

Replaying guides

Open the Guides menu — the ? icon in the header — to replay any walkthrough whenever you need a refresher. As well as the welcome tour, you will find focused guides for the features your organisation holds, for example:

  • Dashboards — scope and period pickers, benchmark tiles, funding and data sources.
  • Managing your team (admins) — inviting colleagues and member roles.
  • Medicus build tools — the end-to-end walkthrough of forms, questionnaires, searches, dashboards and library items.
  • Individual guides for Forms, Questionnaires, Medicus Searches, Medicus Dashboards and Library Items.

The menu only lists guides relevant to you — you won't see a guide for a package your organisation doesn't hold.

For admins: tracking your team's progress

Organisation admins can see who on the team has completed the getting-started tour and other guides, from the Guide progress panel on Practice → Team members. See Tracking your team's onboarding.
