Overview/Purpose
What does it do?
- On opening a patient record checks to see if the patient has outstanding requirements for any lipid management indicator for QOF.
- If there are outstanding requirements the user:
- Is told what these are
- Is provided with information about the latest lipid results
- Displays which lipid lowering drugs the patient is on
- Flags the need to either
- Intensify treatment
- Apply a personalised care adjustment to the patient
Why is it important?
The QOF targets for cholesterol have a much higher value for the QOF year.
Without the PCIT tool, the user would often miss the previously normal reading, or not flag further action required as above. This protocol ensures appropriate action is taken to achieve the QOF target.
