Cardiovascular invites (HP408)
Cardiovascular Invites (HP408)
Overview/Purpose
This protocol ensures that users achieve the following QOF indicators:
- HYP008 - Hypertensive, age <80, BP 140/90 mmHg or less
- HYP009 - Hypertensive, age 80+, BP 150/90 mmHg or less
- CHD015 - CHD, age <80, with BP 140/90 mmHg or less
- CHD016 - CHD, age 80+, with BP 150/90 mmHg or less
- STIA014 - Stroke, age <80, BP 140/90 mmHg or less
- STIA015 - Stroke, age 80+, BP 150/90 mmHg or less
- CHOL003 - Patients on a statin or other lipid lowering drug
- CHOL004 - LDL cholesterol less than or equal to 2.0
What does it do?
- Checks every patient loaded to see if they have any of the above indicators outstanding for the current QOF year
- If they have it will display
- The total number of invites the patient has had in the current contract year
- Whether the latest invite is after the latest BP/cholesterol
Why is it important?
The QOF targets for blood pressure and cholesterol have a much higher value for the QOF year. The thresholds are also much higher, so greater effort will be required to achieve these, including making sure that patients are actively recalled. There is currently no way to know how many invites a patient has had
Unfortunately due to EMIS's core functionalities we are unable to display if there are two invites, a week apart, after the latest BP/Cholesterol. Our approach is to therefore provide the user with the total number of invites and if the latest was after the latest BP/cholesterol. If it wasn't, the user knows the patient will not be excepted, if it is the user needs to double check whether there are two invites 7 days apart after the latest BP/cholesterol
What does it look like?
When indicators are outstanding and there is an invite after the last BP/Cholesterol the following is shown:
When the user hovers over the alert the following is shown:
