Suspected Colorectal Cancer and FIT Management Process
Purpose:
We have developed a set of templates to support the management of suspected colorectal cancer.
What does it look like?
Clinician Template
This template can be found within the Suspected Cancer in the Clinician OneTemplate or search '2ww Lower GI' through the F12 functionality.
Within this template, users will find the FIT Request and Admin section which is connected to a protocol and patient status alerts. Click here for further info CAN 04: FIT Template
Admin Template
The Sample Admin template shown below is design for admin staff to record with a date when 1) a FIT kit is being collected by a patient 2) a FIT sample is being dropped off by a patient
These can be recorded under the 'Stool' section as shown below
This template can be found in the Admin OneTemplate or search 'Sample Admin' through the F12 functionality.
Healthcare Assistant/Nurse Practitioners:
Users can record that sample is being sent to the lab using the 'Other Tests' page located within the 'Treatment Room' Template. This template is found within the non-prescribers OneTemplate. Again, users can search 'Treatment Room' through the F12 functionality.
The same check box can also be found within the FIT template mentioned above.

Fitting your practice
Your team need to discuss and be clear about how you are consistently recording the provision of FIT tests within the clinical system, so these toolsets and the supporting information helps to support.
