022 Meds Management Overview

Overview

The EMIS search folder 022 Meds Management brings together groups of searches and reports under the umbrella of medicines monitoring.  This set of searches cover an expanding range of topics.

Additional support articles linked below will help you to use these searches and reports to target patients who may require attention, and to reduce some of the labour intensive aspects of checking various data points when reviewing the record.

Idea
If you find a medicines management area that could benefit from some searches and reports, Primary Care IT can help! Submit a support ticket with the requirements for the development team to review.

Benefits

Our Meds Management searches and reports can help to:
  1. Carry out safe prescribing; by having searches to backup your prescribing actions, you can ensure that patients do not slip through the net.
  2. Prepare for CQC inspections; some of the CQC target searches look at prescribing activity. Ensure that patients are regularly reviewed and unsafe combinations are reviewed or stopped before the Practice receives notice of an inspection.
  3. Save time and effort; the searches and reports are created in a way to provide users with as much relevant information as possible to save looking through individual patient records. The support articles and other training materials will support the user to work through them as efficiently as possible. There is also no need to spend time creating your own searches or reports to support these QOF indicators.
