Choosing the right way to sign up to Nexus
Nexus has one Create account path. You pick your organisation first; we then offer the right options for that site. All self-serve accounts need an NHS email (@nhs.net or any nhs.uk address).
When you visit Nexus signed out, choose Sign in or Create account. Patients can use Find & compare GP practices without an account.
What happens after you pick your organisation
- Your organisation already has a PCIT contract. We offer to set up Nexus Core against that contract (access follows the contract end date). If you are the practice manager or primary contact on the PCIT account, you become organisation admin. Otherwise you still get access and can nominate an admin (optional). You can also invite teammates from the contact list we hold, or add other NHS emails.
- Otherwise you choose one of:
- Free dashboards. We create a Foundation organisation for your practice, PCN, ICB or NHS England home. Permanent free benchmarks; ready to upgrade later.
- Medicus 3‑month free trial (GP practices): our team approves, then provisions and guides you through IM1 setup. If you already have a live contract we respect its end date instead of a fresh trial clock.
- Purchase packages: pick Core plus any other live modules from the catalogue, save a card, and PCIT authorises the request before access goes live.
Existing users simply Sign in.
Every Create account path emails a confirmation link first. We have to know you can read that NHS inbox before the account can sign in, or before our team picks up a purchase or Medicus trial request. If the link says "access denied" or that it has expired, NHS mail security sometimes visits links while scanning your inbox: sign in anyway, or ask for a new link. See Sign-in problems.
Medicines Management teams (separate path)
ICB / CCG medicines management teams who need monitoring-rule access use a separate registration link on the sign-in page: not Create account. That path does not pick a GP practice ODS and does not found a practice organisation; our team reviews the application after you confirm your email.
