Leave, absence and Bradford scores
Two pages cover time away from work: Workforce → Leave for planned leave, and Workforce → Absence & Bradford for sickness absence.
Leave
Workforce → Leave manages leave requests with an approve/reject workflow:
- Requests — managers and admins raise and process leave requests (including entering leave on a staff member's behalf); staff can submit their own via My workforce.
- Entitlements — per-staff leave balances tracked against your holiday year.
- Month overview — who's away when, at a glance.
- Team absence limits — requests are checked against limits so a whole team can't be off at once.
- Leave types are configurable, and everything exports to CSV.
Approved leave automatically overlays the Rota planner, so you can't rota someone who's away.
Absence & Bradford
Workforce → Absence & Bradford tracks sickness absence:
- Bradford Factor scores per staff member — the standard measure that weights *frequent short* absences more heavily than rare long ones — with configurable trigger thresholds so you can apply your own HR policy.
- The sickness episodes behind each score.
- Return-to-work tracking.
Sensitive detail is deliberately excluded: the page works from dates and durations only, never the nature of the illness.
