Remember that a subscription is optional — the benchmark dashboards are free for all NHS staff. For subscribing practices, what you can see and do in Nexus is driven by the packages your organisation holds. Packages come in two forms: a platform tier (a bundle priced per registered patient) and à-la-carte add-ons. Current packages and prices are always listed on the in-app pricing page at /pricing — all prices exclude VAT.
The benchmark dashboards (practice, PCN and ICB views, plus Funding & equity and Data sources) are free for anyone with an NHS email — no card, no trial clock. Every paid account includes them too.
Subscription tiers are priced per registered patient per month, so the cost scales with practice size. As a guide, the sign-up wizard offers tiers such as:
| Tier | Guide price | Aimed at |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 10p / patient / month | Everything you need to get started |
| Plus | 15p / patient / month | Advanced tools for growing practices |
| Enterprise | 20p / patient / month | Networks and federations |
An example: a practice of 8,000 patients on Standard would pay about £800/month equivalent at 10p — the wizard and your billing page always show your actual figure. Your registered patient count is taken from the latest NHS publication where possible, and can be updated in Practice → Settings.
You can change tier after sign-up — contact support or use your billing page; changes take effect from the next billing cycle.
Some capabilities are separate add-ons, for example:
QOF and CQC each come as a single package you take at one of four levels. Each level includes everything below it, so you only pick how far up you want to go — and you can move up later without losing anything.
| Level | What it adds |
|---|---|
| Performance | The dashboards: how the practice is doing on every indicator or CQC key question, with trends. No patient-identifiable data. |
| Actions | The patient lists. Who is outstanding what, so you can work through them — plus batch booking invites. |
| Monitoring | The same outstanding actions on the patient in front of you, inside the Nexus browser extension, checked against the live record before anyone is chased. |
| Automation | Nexus does the chasing: recall generated on a schedule, invites sent, coding written back. |
A worked example: at Actions you can pull the list of patients outstanding their HbA1c and invite them. At Monitoring the extension also tells the clinician, while that patient is open in front of them, that the HbA1c is outstanding — and suppresses the prompt if it was actually done this morning and simply hasn't reached the overnight data yet.
Prices are listed per level on the in-app pricing page. If a level shows "price on application", it is released but not yet self-serve — contact support for a quote.
The England-wide national dashboard is no longer a paid add-on for organisations — it is included free with every organisation account, alongside the benchmark dashboards above. (Free NHS data-access accounts, which aren't attached to an organisation, still request it — see Free NHS data access.)
Packages your organisation holds determine which menus appear — a feature you don't hold is simply not shown. See Why can't I see a feature?.
Build-tool packages are specific to your clinical system — for example Medicus Searches and Medicus Dashboards for Medicus sites, EMIS Templates for EMIS Web, TPP Templates for SystmOne. You're offered the right set for the clinical system you selected at sign-up.
