Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an NHS email address? Yes — self-serve Nexus accounts require an @nhs.net or nhs.uk address.

Is there really a free tier? Yes — and it's permanent, not a trial. The benchmark dashboards (practice, PCN, ICB, funding, data sources) are free for anyone with an NHS email — no card, no expiry, no need to register your organisation. See What's free and what's paid?.

How much does the paid platform cost? Pricing is per registered patient per month, by tier — see the in-app /pricing page for current tiers and the plans article. All prices exclude VAT.

Is there a trial? Every new organisation can start with a free 90-day trial, no card required. Trial codes from Primary Care IT can extend or vary this.

How many users can we have? As many as you like — pricing is per registered patient, not per seat. Invite the whole team from Practice → Team members.

Why can't I see a feature a colleague has? Features are gated by your organisation's packages, your clinical system and your role — see Why can't I see a feature?.

Does Nexus see our patient records? The benchmark dashboards and AI Insights use only published, aggregate NHS data. Clinical features (My QOF data, monitoring and recall) work from data ingested from your own clinical system, held securely for your organisation — see Data protection and where the data comes from.

Why do I have to set up an authenticator app? Two-factor authentication is required on organisation accounts because the platform handles clinical tooling. You can trust a device for 7 days to reduce prompts. Free viewer accounts don't need 2FA.

Can I use Nexus on any browser? Nexus is a web app and works in modern browsers. Voice dictation in AI Insights is available in Chrome and Edge.

How do I get help? Start with the in-app Guides (?) menu; for anything else, email support@primarycareit.co.uk — see Getting help.
