Dashboards → AI Insights lets you ask questions of the benchmarking data in plain English and get answers with the actual figures cited. It queries the same public NHS data warehouse as the dashboards — it never touches patient records.
AI Insights is an add-on package metered in Insight Credits — see Insight Credits explained.
Asking a question
Type a question the way you'd ask a colleague — for example *"How does our appointment capacity compare to the rest of the PCN over the last year?"* — or pick one of the suggested starter prompts.
Before sending, choose a mode, which sets how much analysis the AI does (and roughly how many credits it uses):
- Quick (~2–8 credits) — a fast, focused answer
- Standard (~10–30 credits) — the default; a proper look at the data
- Deep (~50–150 credits) — a thorough investigation across more datasets
You can also dictate your question by voice in Chrome or Edge.
Reading the answer
Answers stream in as formatted text, and — importantly — each one attaches the data it used: the queries the AI ran and the rows that came back, so you can verify every figure rather than take it on trust.
For each answer you can:
- Pin it to a Board — collect related answers and export them as a branded PowerPoint
- Copy or export the answer
- Rate it 👍/👎 (a 👎 asks what went wrong, which directly improves the service)
The monthly briefing
You can opt in to a monthly AI briefing email — on the 1st of each month it summarises your headline picture, what's going well, what to watch and one recommended action. The latest briefing is also shown on the AI Insights page.
