Base Handy Protocols:
The following base handy protocols are installed by default as part of the EMIS PCN DES product.
The purpose of the HP003 - AF Detector 1 - Pulse Rhythm Checker is to increase pick up of atrial fibrillation by trigger recording of the rhythm of the pulse whenever pulse is entered.
To improve the diagnosis of atrial fibrillation by making sure that irregular pulses are followed up.
This protocol ensures that patients referred via the 2 Week Wait (2WW) pathway are appropriately safety netted. It helps staff track and follow up on referrals, reducing the risk of patients missing critical diagnostic or treatment opportunities.
This protocol will highlight to users where a patient has had raised platelets and may be at risk of cancer.
This protocol will highlight to users where a patient may be at risk of pancreatic cancer.
IIF Outstanding is a protocol alert. It displays outstanding action needed for IIF for the contract year. If a user double clicks on the alert it will take them to a template where the required actions can be completed.
This protocol will highlight to users where patients are overdue for any of the national screening programmes.
Optional Handy Protocols:
The following Optional handy protocols which can be installed for users of the EMIS PCN DES product. Please read the Optional Handy Protocol support article to decide if the protocol would be of benefit to your practice before requesting for this to be installed within your EMIS instance.
This is a protocol to safety net 2 week wait referrals. Where a 2 week wait referral has been made but no subsequent outcome recorded, it will prompt you to enter this detail into the record - hence ensuring that every 2 week wait referral has an outcome.
This protocol will highlight to users where a patient may be at risk of lung cancer.
The Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) radar is designed to improve the detection of prostate cancer and to spot progression of established prostate cancer. The alert informs a user when loading the record (via the red protocol alert box), about the status of this patient's PSA testing. It aims to quickly draw attention to potential risks associated with raised PSA results, providing recommendations about a 2 week-wait referral or involving current urology teams.
The protocol alert (HP219) shows the Foundry alert RAG status for the patient you have active in EMIS Web.
The protocol (HP220) prompts your team to update the RAG status (if necessary) when saving a consultation.
